My mailbox is full of glossy, luscious and oh-so-tempting seed catalogs and I’m teetering on the edge.
Just one more cold, gloomy, nasty winter day away from an obsessive all-nighter marking up pages with a highlighter and falling asleep with the annual Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds ‘book’ as a pillow and a Fedco Seeds catalog drool-stuck to my face.
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”
― Robert Louis Stevenson
Well, Mr. Stevenson screw you. It’s simple to plant seeds. Keeping the plants that grew from those seeds watered, weeded, de-bugged and eventually harvested, canned and stored for the winter? Well, that is the true test of the mettle of any aspiring gardener.
But the seed-sowing part itself? Easy-peasy. Which is just how the dang seed catalogs SUCK YOU IN.
This Farmer Georgie story is made available via Medium, an online blogging platform. My newsletter fans receive a special ‘friends link’ to each story I send out so you can read it, even if you don’t have a Medium account yourself.
You can "clap" (the little ‘clapping hands’ symbol) on a story up to 50 times to help get it distributed to more readers, and show your support to the writer. Writers (like me!) are paid by the reading time spent on a story by Medium members. So the more claps, the more readers, the more I can write!
